Based in Tasmania, Australia, we have been serving both local and mail order clients since 1979. See us for professional service and advice on buying, selling or insuring coins, stamps, medals and collectables and accessories. We are agents of the Royal Australian Mint and Perth Mint.
We also offer a professional medal restoration service and framing of family Honour Boards, etc. We are approved medal mounters for the Australian Defence Force and Australian Federal Police and other services.

In April 2019 we celebrated 40 years in business! We would like to thank you for your support and friendship. We feel very privileged to have clients who have supported us, some for the full 40 years. It is a pleasure to help enthusiastic collectors to really enjoy their hobby. Raelene and Rodney Newell opened the business (originally known as The Stamp Place) in April 1979. They retired in 1999 and the reins were handed over to the next generation.
In 2012 the business name was altered to The Coin & Stamp Place and our logo changed to show coins, stamps and medals, to more accurately reflect how the business had grown since its establishment. We thank you again for your support. It has been a great pleasure serving you all through these years. We hope to continue this relationship in the forthcoming years.

Do you have a convict in your family tree?

A poignant journey to the heart of Australia’s convict heritage, this inspired new RAM release recreates the Love Tokens engraved upon British pennies by those awaiting transportation to the Great Southern Land.

Featuring designs taken from genuine Convict Love Tokens, the three Australian legal tender coins are struck from copper, and then individually antiqued by hand to resemble the originals. Set within individual cards, the set comprises: ‘Forget Me Not’, ‘Gaol Bird’ and ‘Remember Me When You See'.
