In turmoil at the end of World War II, the German States (Deutscher Lander) together minted some denominations of coinage until things settled down and the Federal Republic (Bundes Republik) took over. As such, some of the early issues are unique and carry some collector value, but the later issues, 1950 and after, are worth face value. All BUNDES REPUBLIK 1, 2, 5, and 10 pfennig coins dated after 1949 are worth face value, or a few US dollars if fully uncirculated. Any value over face value is due to collector demand, and some collectors want to add fully uncirculated specimens to their collections, but they will not pay very much to do so, as follows:
1, 2, 5, 10 PFENNIG AFTER 1949 BUNDES REPUBLIK
worn: less than $1 US dollar approximate catalog value
average circulated: less than $1
well preserved: less than $1
fully uncirculated: $4
Here are some catalog values for coins dated 1948 and 1949:
1 PFENNIG DEUTSCHER LANDER 1948 and 1949
worn: less than $1 US dollar approximate catalog value
average circulated: less than $1
well preserved: $7
fully uncirculated: $30
5 PFENNIG DEUTSCHER LANDER 1949
worn: less than $1 US dollar approximate catalog value
average circulated: $1
well preserved: $8
fully uncirculated: $35
10 PFENNIG DEUTSCHER LANDER 1949
worn: less than $1 US dollar approximate catalog value
average circulated: $1
well preserved: $8
fully uncirculated: $30
10 pfennig coins dated 1949 with a G mint mark are a tad more valuable than coins with other mint marks
