coin through table trick turtle

www.magicalapparatus.com › coinage › flying-turtles. Coins have passed through everything, hands, tables, pockets, metal boxes and of course drinking glasses. What they haven't done is pass through visually and in. Teller mentioned something about using a table that is thin on the edge Penn said a dozen turtles whatever, but he only used a turtle at the end (? When i was a kid I had that same coin trick I bought for $10 -- it was a two.

I thought I was well versed in coin magic, but I have no idea what Penn was referring to when he referenced turtles when talking to Eric Jones. Any help?

While I think P&T were onto him and kind of had a sense of what was going on, I'm glad he "fooled them"...even if it was on a bit of a technicality.

Either way, Eric is masterful and deserves the recognition. This routine is and his skill in general, is always outstanding to watch.

6 years ago, I sat next to Eric at P&T's show and we were fooled badly. How cool that just a few years later, he's up there, fooling them...and us! Right away I thought that he was using Jamie's gaff that he developed after watching Eric's work with the turtle and another gaffed coin. It was a beautiful routine.

That was no technicality a Turtle is not a Dolphin.

Wow turtle and a dolphin!?
I am not clear as to why so many people on the Café use these codes. I get it's paraphrasing Penn in this case.
I want to do a written imitation from one of the greatest movies ever Jurassic Park "we've got Datsun over here"

"It's a shell and flipper" see just like Datsun no one cares.

Sorry but my inner voice says that there is no reason why you just can't say words like "Thumb tip, shell, or flipper" on a board which is obviously geared toward magicians. And before anyone asks I do get the contextual use in the aforementioned statements. It just makes me chuckle when I see people spell "sh••l, thu••t•p, or fl•pp•r" almost all of know what it is and it takes forever to spell it that way.
(This statement is meant as a tongue in cheek thing just to be clear, just thought I'd take the p••s on this one)

Exactly, it was both a dolphin and a turtle so yeah...I still argue it was a technicality. they were onto him. But whatever, I love EJ. He fooled them and that's all that counts.

I still can't figure out what Penn meant when he referenced "Yaba Dabba Doo" with respect to a performance - anyone care to enlighten me.

He didn't say Yabba DABBA Doo, but rather Yabba DAUBA Doo......DAUBA.

When I saw Calabrese come on I knew exactly what he was going to do before he did it.

Honestly I liked the final response to the mentalism effect, (paraphaseing): "We read your book, we love the effect, and you would have fooled the crap out of us, had we not read your book."

Yes, Eric Jones definitely played with a dolphin. Lol I am very surprised that pen and teller did not catch that..... That was the main part of the routine! The Turtle only came out to play for such a short time! Lol the look on pens face. Priceless..... He knew that some creature/s was at play but could only spot the turtle. I guess the GF is ahead of their time. I do love those guys though. I bet they only know of the old style dolphins, the kind that are hard to tame.
;-)

.

I'm sure pen is kicking himself in the pants right about now. Lol he had to of figured it out by now.
I sympathize with him. He almost had it but not quite

Teller was very pleased! I think tellers coin magick is relatively free of creatures, hence his bewilderment.

I love you guys!

Thanks david j40 for sharing this fun video

Check out the threads on Calabrese's DVS and Seer trick, and you might spot a conversation or two on what's in play where "dauba" might make sense.
